My wife must truly love me. She knows what really makes a nerd’s heart really thump. Just the other day, she came to me with a big smile on her face and said “come with me!” She pointed at something on the monitor and asked, if she bought tickets, would I be interested in going with my son. I looked at the screen and was confused.

Would I be interested in going to an intimate concert with Chris Hadfield? Fridge, yeah, I’m interested! So, this Father’s Day, I will be going to Vintage Wings of Canada to see Chris Hadfield, along with my six year old son and 98 other people. He’ll be talking about music and space (two things for which he has some small degree of repute) and signing autographs.

I’ll bring my copy of An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth. And I’ll thank him for all the excitement he imbued in me and my son and my daughters for science and space exploration. It’s good to have science heroes!
